Does what it’s supposed to do

Does what it’s supposed to do. I keep a supply of stored water in my house in case of emergencies. I bought this water to supplement that supply. The box is sturdy, and holds the water very securely. I don’t know if I’ll ever need to use this water. But with how crazy this world is, you never know if you’ll need it. And if I ever buy a boat, I can bring it on there too. But I probably won’t ever buy a boat. They’re very expensive to own, and I have so many other things I’m into. It just wouldn’t get used enough. Unless I gave up other interests and turn that focus to boating. But I don’t see that happening. I assume that this water is just as wet as other water I’ve used in the past. But I haven’t actually tried any yet. Hopefully, if an emergency happens, and I have to drink this water, it tastes good. I hate when stored water tastes plasticy. Hopefully I’ll never find out how this water tastes, but having it gives me some security in this crazy world.

    As advertised

Arrived with no leaks. Will be my emergency water for my car, home, etc. One is small and flat enough to slip into my purse, day backpack also, in case I really need it. I keep a first aid kit in my car and will add a few of the pouches in there, too. I’m glad I bought them. It’s worth a little peace of mind.

    Perfect for my emergency bag.

I’ve added these to my emergency bags and first aid kits. Remember it’s ok to use the things in your kits, just replace them when needed. While water doesn’t go bad, the packaging can. So check the ones at work, home and in the car, in case they need to be traded out. These last for 5 years, so I’m trying to use them and not waste them, like the last ones. Water pouches are great in a first aid kit for taking medicine and rinsing off a wound.

    No need for bottles

I walk a lot and find carrying a bottle doesn’t free up my hands. I use these 4.25 ounce packets instead. I carry up to three on me when I walk. My only issue is they are difficult to open.

The water packets are loosely packed in the shipping box. No damage to any of the pouches. Doesn’t taste bad either. We got these for our Scouts/Cubscouts emergency preparedness course. Just the right size for small hands too.

    Storing for CALIF earthquake supplies

Saw this and thought it should be good for storage for an earthquake. I normally store 1-gallon jugs in a shed but it gets a lot of heat in the summer. Which they say is not good for plastic water bottles. I’ll try these with a longer shelf life than the plastic butters.

the pouches were reasonably priced and packaged so one pouch could be used for several little jobs instead of opening a larger amount of packaged water. A 5 year shelf life is also a plus for “pouched” water.

    Check expiration date

I was going to buy replacement water for my get home bag through the original company, Echo Sigma. Their prices for the exact same water pouches were almost twice as much plus shipping. I contacted them and asked about the price difference and they stated they would guarantee their pouches were up to date. I just couldn’t justify the price of theirs, so I went with the Amazon pouches. Sure enough, the expiration date started November 2019 which gave me three months less of longevity. I was ok with that as long as it wasn’t close to a year or more, especially for the price!! The pouches are very strong and sealed well.

No more plastic bottles in the car

So, you’re not really supposed to keep those plastic bottles of water in the car for an emergency. There are rated for 5 years and the product was fresh (about one month old). A few in our car, some for the kids/grand kids to throw in the trunk. I didn’t taste one (yet) but under emergency circumstances who’s going to get worked up if it’s not pristine?

One star to get attention – needs better opening instructions

The product itself is actually fine. What is not fine is how it is packaged and the lack of warnings on the box when opening. The box containing the water packets is not labeled, except for a sticker that says “Heavy”. It is taped shut. I took a very small knife to open the box by cutting the tape… and I cut through about 3 of the water packets. They are all stuffed into the box with no extra space. And now I lost those packets. Of course, if I had thought about it more, I wouldn’t have used a knife. But idiots like me need help, please! I think there should be a warning label on the box – “Do not open with sharp utensils”. And the box itself should say what it is. I got several things from Amazon at once, so I was not 100% sure that this was the box of water packets anyway. If you are going to put a label that says “HEAVY” on the box (it’s not even that heavy), you can put another warning label about how to open it.Anyway – “DON’T OPEN THIS BOX WITH A SHARP OBJECT”. You will cut into the water packets on top.

    Perfect solution

I’m glad I finally came across this way to store emergency water long-term in a hot vehicle without having to worry about the container degrading or leaching chemicals into the water. The water still tasted great after being stored in the hot vehicle all summer. The size of the packets is such that they can be discreetly stored in all sorts of nooks and crannies in the vehicle. I have 35 of them stashed around the spare tire in such a way that you can remove the spare tire without having to move the water pouches. I can fit 9 pouches in each door pocket. I have some in the pockets on the back of the seats, the glove box, under the seats and in the center console. I also store them other places, such as my garage, where I am reluctant to store bottled water because of temperature extremes. The expiration date on the pouches was just a few days short of 5 years from the date I received them.

    Taste Clean

I like how clean the water tasted. I was a bit worried that it was going to taste weird but it tasted like filtered water. But then again the batch I received was made in January 14, 2023 so it is pretty recent. Nonetheless, I’m satisfied with my purchase. Definitely going to order again.

    One was leaking

It was very cold when they were delivered so it might have gotten frozen. But one was leaking and emptied its contents into the whole box. There were 100 and I dried each one off and put into a dry place. Cut one open to try it and tastes fine to me. Would be a life saver if you had no other option. I have some in a go bag and have some to friends for there hunting/camping/ bug out bag.

This is a great item to have in an emergency. The size is perfect. The taste however is a little off. It has a chemical taste to it. I wish it had a more fresh taste, but in an emergency, you won’t be thinking of that.

    Glad I have it.

I am happy with the purchase. The pouches have little notches to use to tear it open. I opened one up and did not think there was a strange taste. Each pouch has a 1/2 cup of water inside. Suggests 4 pouches per person in emergency. The box is heavy and comes with a lot of pouches! Happy I have in case of an emergency!

    It’s literally bags of water!

They’re bags of water. They don’t hold much water, about 4 pouches will be required to fill a typical drinking glass, but if you’re using these, they’re to keep you alive, not comfortable. The pouch recommends four pouches / day, but if you’re sweating or in a very dry climate, expect to increase that. The water tastes just fine. They say five-year shelf life but I’m going to guess they’ll last vastly longer than that as nothing will really break down. The pouches are pretty durable and the rubbery plastic inner liner is thick and strong (which can make tearing it open a bit of a challenge). The pouches have enough internal spare volume to easily freeze with room to spare, so they shouldn’t burst. However, if you’re storing these water pouches yourself somewhere without climate control, remember that ice expands just under 10%. So basically, if you think the water might freeze, for every ten pouches, leave one pouch worth of volume free. Otherwise, they will almost certainly rupture their seams when freezing. While experimenting with ways to store the water for survival kits, I loaded up a .50 cal ammo can in two different ways and then put the can in my freezer. You can store ten pouches sandwich-style, and you can store eleven pouches stacked. You can actually fit twelve pouches stacked in their liquid form and still have room for the lid to close (eleven frozen pouches occupies the exact same volume as twelve liquid ones), but if the can will be exposed to freezing temperatures for more than a night, they will almost certainly blow up. You should be okay if you only experience overnight freezes (like if you live in a high desert). All in all, this box was the best value on Amazon so I went for it. I only wish the crimped edges of the pouches were a bit smaller, some of them are almost half an inch wide and it introduces more challenges to storage. I’m using them for small survival kits in a disaster and something for my car. If you’re looking for home emergency water supply, these aren’t very efficient, you should be using large gallon containers instead.

Perfect water pouches for emergency supplies

I need to replace some water for my emergency supplies both for my cars and earthquake supplies, and these completely fit the bill. They are a convenient size and I was able to pack them in the space available. They worked well in the car I had suffering through the central NY winters, and also stuffed into the emergency box here in CA. I would purchase these again for sure.
