    Tight pipes …

Pipes came a little unfinished rough around the edges… So five minutes on a belt sander now all connecting pipes fit snug Not tight …..I can see how people fit them together do a “first burn ” and they get stuck together . I would buy again for car camping .it’s a little heavy for back packing.

    Sharp edges!

Pretty good, portable stove. I added new, longer 6mm bolts for the legs as others mentioned they come loose. Also, watch for sharp edges, thin steel cuts easy. Best to handle with a pair of gloves. Currently on second break-in burn. Easy to use.

    Good for Polar Bear weekend

This is a neat little stove. It kept my son warm when we tested it out in our hot tent in our yard on a 30°F night. The downside is we didn’t have the stovepipe damper yet, and the seasoned oak burned out in about 3 to 4 hours. The stovepipe also gets cherry red, so I recommend using the fiberglass wrap where it passes through the tent. I also got the heat activated fan for on to of it. I have to modify the way the legs attach, because they do come loose quickly.Overall, I am pleased with it and have recommended it to my fellow scoutmasters.

It’s a camping stove and. Functions as it should

It’s worth it. From experienced kayak 2 week camper, it’s a great stove. Buy a dampner for the piping. Coal cam be used in small quantities allowing you to keep embers. 4 put of 5 for value.

Works but limited and bad design.

I bought this stove and a hot tent to use on our weekend camping trip where temperatures would reach into the low 20s at night. This stove was very reasonably priced and I understand why.First, theres no intake adjustment to allow the heat to be controlled. This makes it run hot and burn very fast, causing the tray to buckle and the stove & chimney to glow red. You’ll have about 30 minutes before you have to feed it or it will burn out quickly.Second, the legs are secured by a single screw that will loosen causing the legs to spin. If they just added lock washers it would have saved some aggravation. I did love the One Tigris hot tent however you will need a table or additional chimney extensions with this stove.

    Light and portable

This weighs about 15 pounds so it’s not to heavy. The main source of fuel is wood for this. You can use this while camping or simply in a backyard. This fireplace is a good one with how portable it is. I’ve had it a few months and I hook it up inside a tent when I sleep with my family and it’s easily used. It has a high heat output with 100% efficiency.

Its not bad, but not 304 SS as advertised.

It honestly is packed well, and the pieces all fit together nicely. However, on the edges of the pipes you can see either rust or some leftover metal peeling. I dont think this is 304SS as advertised, but looks like it would be easy to throw into your car for a trip.

It works, but gets rusted fast

The welding and the craftsmanship is atrocious- see pics. The employees are obviously not skilled and are just rushing along. This thing also was rusted before we used it. It was new I sat it outside inside a tent for a few days and it freaking rusted. See Pics. No it wasn’t rained on. It’s kinda sad really. Good news is that it worked… my uncle encouraged me to keep it. I WAS going to send it back

    Works great for small space

Like other reviews mentioned it does smoke at first because of the oil on the surface so burn it off outside before you try and snuggle up with it. Could use a damper and my husband is going to finagle one. Otherwise works great in our tiny converted chicken house.

It leaks smoke out of the doors and the stack pipe.

The shelf warps after the first burn, the Kevlar doesn’t hold the smoke in the smoke will find a way. The circular dish on top warped and smoke comes out of that. Smoke bellows out of the door. Not very well made was quite disappointed after I spent $120 on this stove. It absolutely made the space warm in fact it was super hot I had to open the windows. I gave it one star

    Very small waste of money

I feel that this camp stove is way too small to be of any use. You have to burn branches and twigs in it and if you use any thicker wood the stove will get too hot and twist the metal.

Metal warps very quickly from heat and you can’t really put a small log in it and you have to use tiny sticks, the spot for a pot warps and let’s a lot of smoke inside the tent.

    Multiple uses

What I love about this cooking stove is that not only am I able to cook and have a nice warm breakfast, lunch or dinner but at night, it will keep me warm as well. I even has a specialized tent that allows me to have such a stove inside my tent and this stove fits perfectly. Even the chimney fits inside of the opening of my tent without singing or damaging the tent itself, which was not cheap. The stove does come in pieces but putting it together was no issue, but I’ve put several of these together practically all my life. The glass insert that covers the front of the stove is really heavy duty. The last one I owned was very cheap and thin, didn’t last more than a few times of being used before it broke. With this glass, it sits perfectly flush and allows no smoke to come through. However, when it comes to heat, this thing will not only heat up my tent but even when close by, keeps me nice and warm. All smoke comes out through the chimney without leaking as well. Great quality materials and have not had any problems with it either.

    STURDY & WELL MADE

This camping stove is great. It is compact but heavy duty and only weighs 15 pounds. I like that the side shelves is also the handle and that the legs fold up, makes it very easy to carry and for storage. It is stainless steel and wipes off very easily. It has a glass front so you can see the fire. It has a top pipe to take the smoke out. This is very well made and a very nice quality. It is a great addition to our camping equipment. I can see me using this also if the power went out at home so I could still cook.

Cooks and heats (start about 45 mins early)

Works great I have a tiny home I’m building for my shed and this thing has been a lifesaver I’ve only had it about a week and a half have cooked on it three times it does take a little while to get hot but once it’s hot it is great keeps a 10×20 shed that is only partially insulated mostly warm by itself added with I’m not having to use the generator for using my stove as I can cook on it has been a financial Lifesaver a Time Saver super convenient like I’m absolutely in love with this and I want to buy a second one soon as it would be a lot quicker to cook with two pans of food going at once rather than one I have a few photos I will be adding soon

    Magnificent little burner!

I can’t imagine how anyone would give this a negative review! It was boxed securely, undamaged and easy to assemble. The firebox grate warps when it gets hot but it’s not damaged, and it doesn’t hinder the performance of the stove whatsoever. It’s a solid well-built unit. The stove top is 14″ off the ground and it’ll hold 30 lbs. easy. The stovetop opening allows open flame contact with pots through a 6″ open hole for a fast heat and hand warming. It’s like sitting by a small open fire.I don’t intend to pack it far, so 15 pounds isn’t an issue. The welds on the spark arrestor cap aren’t beautiful but function fine. The stove pipes are sturdy and fit together nicely. It’s easy and simple to use, move and store away. It’ll take an 11″ stick of wood and it’ll warm a small tent very nicely even in frigid single digit weather and it doesn’t smoke if you understand how it works. It was $89.99 and I expect it to last me forever, it will, but I’ll update if it doesn’t.

For the money, can’t beat it

I bought this stove for $100. I already have a stainless steel knico stove and a titanium seek outside stove, so I didn’t want to spend too much on another.Bottomline: I will be buying another one of these in the future.Bad:- One of the leg screws was bad, but this was easy to replace at the hardware store. Others have commented that the legs are wobbly without locktite. Mine was also wobbly, but when I replaced the screws, the legs were solid. Just buy new machine screws for the legs or use loctite.- the ash grate warped after the initial burn it. It doesn’t affect the performance of the stove, but it’s a little harder to take out, and it makes storing the stove pipe inside the tent a little tighter. If they sell replacement grates in case the warping eventually gets worse, that would be fine given the inexpensive cost of the stove overall.Good:+ Chimney was a little wobbly, but it did not fall over and it did not seem unsafe. It was much less hassle than the roll up titanium tube for the other stove I have, and I didn’t worry about burning off the zinc like on the galvanized pipe with the knico+ No smoke. I made sure the fire was well established and then closed the door and the pan underneath. I had no issue with smoke; I ran the stove outside, so that may have affected airflow. I have not tried it in a tent yet, but will update when I do. Opening the door or the pulling out the ash pan underneath slightly are how I controlled air flow. I did not see any secondary burn inside the stove, but there was no visible smoke out of the chimney+ Easy to carry and store+ I’m used to stoves without glass, so that was nice in a stove this sizeOther thoughts:+ There was a little smell during the initial burn, but nothing at all like burning of galvanized stove pipe. I’m not worried about my kids being around it now after the initial burn in.+ The stove got very hot during the initial burn in so it cooked off any residual oils/etc, but also gave the stove a patina (got parts of it blue, but mostly brown patina). Will see if this rusts eventually (my knico is completely rusted at this point)+ It would be nice if there were a damper, but for the price point, I really can’t complain

    Designed to be CHEAP!

I bought this stove from another seller here on Amazon. The stove looked nice but using it was a major pain mainly because the Ash pan (which is you air intake) had a lot of slop and was constantly binding and warping never remotely sealed making damping down the stove impossible. The Stainless steel compared to Carbon Steel also put out a fraction of the heat while warping and eventually cracking and being nearly impossible to repair compared to Carbon Steel. The offset chimney location caused even more headaches, causing the stove to heat much more on the chimney side.Aside from the Fire grate bending and buckling and popping throwing wood and ashed in your face when the door was opened this was out of my five stoves far and away the worst. For the money you can do much better and yes I did return mine for a refund.Fltom has made some nice stoves, this definitely is not one of them.

WOW WOW WOW! can’t wait to use this in Mojave desert soon!

Went together great!! I used hi temp loctite on all threads AND stainless lock washers on ALL screws, 4 for the window and 4 for the legs. I might drill a 2nd hole for legs so they can’t pivot although they don’t seem like they will move but a mishap is not sth u want in a tent stove (gust of wind, twisted leg = no good!). Otherwise it’s perfect, portable, light, and very well thought out design!I went for the vertical version because I read many reviews saying side exit stacks want to tip the stove and is not stable. I Love the little window, Ash tray and wood rack. I will take 2 aluminum cooky sheets for under and behind as a type of hearth or maybe attach them with 1inch spacing as a permanent heat shield.. we will also hand sew in a stove jack and see how that goes ito water coming in with rain. Jack arrives today so will see how best to install in our vintage coleman hillary tent. Will update after we have tested it.. and will do a preburn to vent off any oils or smells before we leave :)Update after first camp:So we took this to the desert, fantastic little thing. It heated our vintage sears tent up in 5 minutes. The rack warped and is unusable but I ditched it for more room inside.Damper mod: I bought a 6 buck 3 inch damper, removed the plate, and used a hole saw and cut one from 1/8 plateand tack welded it onto the rod. I then dremel cut 2 slits halfway thru 2 sections of pipe as thick as the damper rod, that way I can drop in the damper and slide the two halves over each other essentially pinching the rod from 2 sides. If I don’t want to use the damper just overlap the slits, thats why i cut it halfway only.. it works very well. The stove does burn out pretty quick but thats a small trade off, we take oak charcoal too, between that and the damper it works great. They really should include a damper!Packs up great and it so lightweight its awesome. We use a rectangular milk crate to pack it in, and then we use the crate as a table to set the stove on as well sincethe stacks are short..We had no blow back issues despite a pretty windy 2nd night. Super happy, my buddy had his 200lbs stove and i laughed all the time, imagine hauling a solid iron stove to the desert, no thanks!

Not well made, but does the job.

The media could not be loaded.

Cons -First things first, the quality of this stove is to be expected at $100. You’re getting a cheap stove that will do the job. Before I even built the stove, 1 of the support tabs for the tray that holds the logs and filters the Ash broke off. All of the welds on this little guy are single point welds. So, imagine you just dabbed all around the stove with superglue and that’s essentially what holds it together. The chimney does have sway, but shouldn’t be an issue. It burns hot. This is due to the massive holes on the ash tray. This tray is advertised as a movable air valve, which is frankly made obsolete by the shere amount of large holes in said tray. This could easily be mended by a push-pull style cover that can open and close these holes to your standard.Pros-Cheap. You don’t get mad about the quality because you paid $100 for a freaking stove. It keeps you warm, and that’s all you need.Easy to assemble. You just need a standard screwdriver and a socket setup, or even just an adjustable. I used a gasket rtv to seal the 8 screws/4 nuts. 4 screws for the legs with nut plates, and 4 screws to hold the door ‘glass’, with 4 nuts and 2 supporting brackets. I used gasket rtv to seal them. Not any smoke leak I could see. Since the thing burns so hot, it just sends any of the smoke up through the chimney. Which is could because I doubt the seal integrity of the stove. Which is, again, totally acceptable since you paid less than a pair of decent shoes for it.I also like the removable cook top. It makes loading the fire easier than if you actually used the door. So, unless I’m loading big logs, that door is going to stay closed.Just buy the thing. You don’t have much to lose. I will be using it in my hot tent, but it would be a great back up in case you lose power during winter. Also, the chimney gets ridiculously hot. So make sure it’s well supported when you start burning, otherwise you will do some damage.

Good value. Glad I bought extra accessories.

This stove works really well for our tent. The glass view port is easy to clean, the fire burns hot and the smoke goes up the chimney as it should. I bolted mine down to a table. The legs in contact with the table, and the table top itself, never got too hot to touch, while the stove output plenty of heat to warm the tent. I consider it important to buy a damper worth this stove because full open it easily gets hot enough to turn the pipe and stove top cherry red. I also wound up buying extra pipe. The inside grate it came with immediately warped. The removable tray is handy for controlling air flow. It’s easy to put together. It’s easy to clean out with a flat scoop.

    First Impressions and first trip

I will update after I have used the stove. My first impression is that there were no instructions for installing the legs, glass, and stove pipe base. The glass for the door arrived scratched. Function is everything for this product and I have no input on that as yet. This is an out of the box review.Update:The stove draws well, lights easily, and burns well. It needs a damper. Adding one slows the burn down a bit but it is still a fast burner. It does not leak smoke. The legs, as many reviews have noted, are loose and need to be welded or some other solution. This stove is a good value however, and would be a good entry level option for those not sure if they will like hot tenting without shelling out a lot of money.

    Disappointed

Arrived in good order. Nothing broken. However when installing the legs, only three of the holes in stove had threaded sleeves, seriously! Bad enough no lock washers for legs after hundreds of complaints about the legs moving. No holes in pipe adaptor to put bolts and nuts, fortunately the adaptor does twist on and stay put. Could not drill small holes in legs to screw in self tapping screws, so will have to buy lock washers soon. Will see how it heats in a week.

    We love our stove!

We love this little wood stove. It is perfect for our tiny cabin. We installed extra steel pipe peices with a rain cap out our roof. The wood does burn kinda fast but anything bigger would be too much for our 120 sqft space. May place bricks around the base of the burner to retain more heat. Have to get up at 4am to reload the stove becasue of the smaller size, we will see if adding bricks will help retain heat. The stainless steel is a plus, did not give off smoke or smell at first burn. We picked up a carbon monoxide detector which did not go off at with first burn. We raised up the stove off the ground using concrete garden patio slabs and tiled all around the ground area and up the wall with the chimney. Installed a metal collar outside the roof with thermal tape. Hoping for years of fun with this tiny wood stove in our tiny family Michigan cabin. – Earth Nature Creations – Follow us!

It will smoke you out… And not in a good way

I was very excited to use this wood stove. It’s compact and I liked the appearance. However, after the 3rd use it started to leak smoke from several places: door, welded seams, where the chimney attaches and from the plate on top. If it were just one or two places, I could probably find a way to amend it and move on. But smoke coming out from everywhere was just too much chaos. I’m very disappointed. I unfortunately cannot return for a refund as it’s well past the return window. Please don’t waste your money on this stove. Spend your hard earned cash on something of better quality. I’ll just sit here in the cold now. Thank you for reading my Ted talk.

    Great for beginners

The media could not be loaded.

I bought this for my sister who loves to go camping. This is our first experience with a portable stove so I wanted something that would be user friendly. It was so easy to assemble and use. It’s breaks down into several pieces and the pipe fits inside the main body of the stove which makes it easy to transport. Because it has such a big exhaust pipe, you can actually use it inside a tent and it allows the smoke to escape. It’s a good idea to use it outdoors first to help burn off some of the residue on the metal parts.

at any price, this has to be a hands down winner.

I’ve now bought and used my stove. i followed almost all the ideas everyone gave and thank you all for your help and insight. now, i ran lockthight in the groves in all places where screws are. after the two-day cure time i placed the whole thing in a bonfire to burn off factory containment’s for over an hour. put all together, and no warps or bulges i noticed. I can tell everyone here that I had no smells or any negative points to ponder. in fact, I managed to bake pizza to perfection in it. my tent is smaller than recommended, so it was hot in the 31-degree weather we had on this test run. All in all, I never owned another, but from what I can see, this must have been the #1 for price. if not, I would like to see one bake as well as mine has. noting negative to report, just one heckofa buy as far as this camp is concerned.

    Works great

This is a really nice little stove it works great but the screws that come with the legs were messed up and loose so I replaced them with bolts it’s easy to put together and it’s lightweight puts off pretty good heat but the door latch came bent but its not a real big issue will update once I tried in my hot tent

    it works.

This little wood stove worked great. I had this burning in my tent the last couple days for about 45 minutes each day. I do wish it had a damper. I will make 1 for it. The ash pan is really nice to have. My door latch came bent so it’s really hard to open and close. I will modify it. For the price I can do a little modifications on this.
